Problem Getting Excel to Import Data from Web

I created an excel spreadsheet in Windows 7 and it imports data from the internet.
Someone else is trying to use the spreadsheet on his Mac using Parallels. He gets a number of pop-up windows that never completely load and then Excel freezes.

Where to we begin troubleshooting the problem?

We've successfully run the spreadsheet on 3 PCs. The Mac running Parallels is acting bizarre.
 
More info needed before we can say much. Some starting points:
* What do the popups say?
* Can the Parallels Windows install access the rest of the Internet successfully?
* Where is the content that you're trying to import into Excel?
