Problem installing workstation extreme trial

Hi,

I tried to install the workstation extreme trial (on windows 7 X64 pro), and it failed with an error. "The installer is corrupt. Installation cannot start. please check the installer source. System error code (183): Cannot create a file when that file already exists." I tried re-downloading it a few times just in case, and the exact same thing happens.

I found the %windir%/temp/parallels-smartinstall.log file, and looked at it. The relevant portion appears to be:

It seems that the vc++ redistributables are failing somewhere: I already have the redistributables for 2005/2008 installed (I downloaded them from microsoft and installed them just now, to be sure), and the same problem occurs every time I try to run the installer. I also tried uninstalling 2008, through the downloaded redist, and still the same error occured.

I cleaned out all the temporary files and tried again, and got the same error.

I tried finding other examples of this error on google, but I could not find any.

I also tried installing the same executable file on a win 7 X64 pro VM running on another physical computer (hyper V server 2008 R2, which is what I am working towards possibly replacing with a parallels machine), and it seems to work just fine to install, but I do not believe it had any VC++ files already on it at all. (although it downloads a newer version, which seems odd since I downloaded it just today)
