Problem Updating Parallels Tools

When launching my virtual Windows Machine through Parallels Desktop Pro v12, Parallels Tools starts an install/update. However, about 40% into it, a keep getting an error message that says "There was a problem updating Parallels Tools, Please restart Windows and try again." I tried the adding of a certificate from the Knowledge Base but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
