I have Parallels Desktop Mac Build 7.0.15098 (Revision 770637; June 13, 2012) and I wanted to take a VMWare CentOS image (which I did not create) which runs fine on my Mac using VMWare Fusion Version 4.1.3 (730298). I opened it with Parallels and it said it needed to convert it, which it did without error. However, when I run the converted VM I get the following error on boot: Memory crash kernel (0x0 to 0x0) nowithin permissible range WARNING calibrate_APIC_clock: the APIC timer calibration may be wrong. Red Hat nash version 5.1.19.6 starting Unable to access resume device (LABEL=SWAP-sda2) mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root' setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! ---- Actually while I was typing this post I figured out the issue. I had to go into the Parallels VM Configuration dialog, and under Hardware -> Hard Disk 1 I changed the location to IDE 0:1 from the SATA location it was set to and it booted.
