It is supposed to be the terminal services configuration problem.
did you start the terminal services? also the remote desktop is required. you need to add the remote user through the properties.

    Hi there,

I'm getting exactly the same problem.

Running on XP, client launches the 2x client with no problems (remotely or directly connected to LAN). When an attempt is made to launch an app, it looks like it's going to start, but nothing happens.

Log files are as per poster below (ie: records the attempt by user to open app, and then confirms that app started). When TS manager is queried, users session does not appear.

Very weird, other users having no problems accessing apps on the same server. Only two users are having this issue.

    Please help, at wits end!

    Hello,
Did you try using latest version (in Demo environment. just for testing)?
Can you launch full desktop published through 2X ApplicationServer?
What does Terminal Services Manager say when you launch an application?

    Hi again,

Thanks for the reply, but the problem has been resolved. Meant to post a reply earlier to that effect, but the joys of having a full workload :)

Anyway, the problem centered around our use of Checkpoint SecuRemote software (used to access our network remotely). On a certain build of SecuRemote (build 0060), it seemed to block out spawning the remote app window on the local machine (we are delivering our applications seemlessly), and this was happening regardless of connecting through the VPN or through the LAN.

Removal of the checkpoint software fixed problem. I say fix, but it simply allowed LAN users to access the apps but for remote access, we found that an older version of the checkpoint software solved the problem for us (build 0044) for both remote and local access......hope this helps some poor soul in the future!

    Cheers again for the reply!

Even if the post is an old one, it seems that I have the same error.
    I explain :
    * I just downloaded the product to test it (so I have the latest version).
    * On the server, I publish the notepad application and the desktop
    * On the client side, I can acces to the desktop without any matter but when I double click on the icon of the "notepad" published application, the "2x client" application is hidden and nothing happens.

Note : On the server, I can see the connection of the client
Sometimes, a tooltip appears displaying the following error : TS_AGENT "XXXX" : [E O4/0001000C] Failed to write data to virtual channel.

    Please help

if you are trialling the product, I would recommend opening a ticket with support from the 2X main website. They have been very helpful to me when I tried the solution for evaluation purposes
