Problems installing 9.0.24229 upgrade

When I attempt to install the 9.0.24229 upgrade, there is a brief period of nothing on the screen except the Mac desktop background with a Parallels menu bar showing. After a few seconds, Parallels quits, but no update has happened, so I get another notice to update the next time I start Parallels.

Anyone else see this. Any idea what's wrong? This is on Mavericks 10.9.2 on a MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM. The previous update to 9.0.24217 worked fine on Feb. 25, 2014.

You should try downloading and installing the update manually. Please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Uninstall Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac following this link: http://kb.parallels.com/116992
2. Click on this link to download the latest build for Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac: http://www.parallels.com/directdownload/pd9
3. Follow this link to install Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac: http://kb.parallels.com/116989
4. Follow this link to update Parallels Tools in your Virtual Machine: http://kb.parallels.com/112609
