problems re-installing p-tools

I had the common issue with latency when trying to connect to host resources. painfully slow and VMware is starting to look like a better solution as I begin testing tonight, due to frustrations.

After reading a few posts I removal of macfuse and parallel tools and reinstalling part of the tweak process to get better speed from seeing remote drives and files.

Upon the reinstall of p-tools the installation looks fine but after rebooting the tools are not installed, the windows system (xp pro) is trying to find required drivers and pointing to the D drive (p-tools default image location). Although the image is there the drivers cannot be found and thus the p-tools cannot be installed.

this creates quite a problem as I hoped to have this system back on my work network this week!

any comments would be helpful.
