Question about Slingplayer performance using RC2

First, here's my setup:

MacBook 2.0GHz with 2 GB of RAM
Windows XP SP2 running under RC2 with 1GB of RAM alloted to the virtual machine
Slingplayer 1.0.5.140 (the latest avaialble)

And here's the problem:

Whenever I launch Slingplayer, my CPU usage immediately shoots up to around 100 percent, and the fan begins spinning like crazy.

I'm not running any other applications (in either OSX or Windows XP) besides Parallels itself and the Slingplayer.

I'm just curious what kinds of experience others here who have run Slingplayer on their Macintoshes using Parallels and Windows XP have had.

I don't need Parallels for anything else other than the ability to run Slingplayer on Windows. I've already pre-ordered the final release, and now am wondering if it will fit my need. Parallels seems to be a great product, and perhaps it's just that Slingplayer doesn't work well in this sort of setup.

Any feedback and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I use Slingplayer quite often on my MacBook Pro and it works fine.

Meaning that you don't have excessive CPU usage and the fan doesn't ramp up? Or do they do those things, but you're still able to watch TV on the Slingplayer.

I'm able to view TV shows on the Slingplayer in my setup just fine, but the CPU usage and high fan activitiy is worrisome.
 
It's getting worse. Today, using Activity Monitor, I noticed that the CPU usage was exceeding 125% when running the SlingPlayer.

Certainly this can't be normal.

Anyone else able to run SlingPlayer without having it hijack the CPU?
 
I have not had any problems - I don't remember whether the fans were on a lot nor if there was a lot of CPU usage, but I'm not sure I care - I wasn't doing anything else but watching TV - I did not notice any sluggishness, the machine still responded fine, no noticable delays. Do you have the latest SMC firmware installed?
