Hi, I have Windows 7 running in Parallels on an iMac, using a boot camp partition which I copied onto an external drive from another machine (I didn't want to disturb my primary disk). It's not high-performance, but it works well enough. Two questions. One, I need a backup strategy that can restore my steup without a lot of fuss (i.e. without having to reinstall Windows). Will snapshots serve this purpose? In other words, should my external disk go bad, would I be able to create a new Windows partition on a new external disk from the snapshot, and just boot it and go? Two, I'm curious as to what would happen if I plugged my external disk into a different Mac and attempted to boot it using Parallels on the other Mac. If that works, it would be a very nice capability. I don't want to try it unless I'm sure it won't ruin anything. Thanks for your help.
