I have a issue with a piece of software crashing in my current Windows 11 VM running on a Apple Studio M1 Mac when I perform a certain action. As a test I created a new VM and installed that software. Low and behold that action worked just fine. So that leads me to believe there is some subtle corruption in my original VM's OS. So what I would like to do is reinstall the OS in that VM as to not lose all my other apps. The Microsoft instructions on creating a USB install drive and launching setup from there doesn't work. So is there any method that actuall works or am I, as they say, screwed? If I am screwed then is there a way to backup app my current apps (with their data), move them to the new VM, and most importantly move the Windows Activation over to it? Or alternatively what would I need to copy from the "working" VM over to the existing VM to effectively replace the OS (if this is possible)? Thanks.
