Repeatedly unable to install Parallels Tools after upgrading to 4

OS: Snow Leopard
VM: XP SP3

During the upgrade process at the end of stage 4 I was told that I needed manual intervention to complete the upgrade process. I was provided with a link http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/upgrade/pdfm/ which after browsing through the troubleshooting guides and trying multiple options that I have come across on this forum so far - have proven unsuccessful.

I can boot into my virtual machine, but whenever I try installing the Parallels Tools - it just freezes.
I've Re-converted the VM several times.
I've Click on the Tools ISO on my mac to create a .exe and copied that across.
Still no success.

I truly am at a loss as to what to do next - please help!

Please try to disable antivirus prior to the tools installing.

If this won't help, please create a support ticket at http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/request/ and attach to the ticket files c:\windows\temp\parallels-setup.log and c:\windows\setupapi.log

Post here the ticket number.

I have no antivirus installed. So I'm guessing that we can eliminate that from the equation.

The files should be attached. Though there are 2 setupapi.log files which I found unusual.
