Replace mode in VIM

Since I don't have an INSERT key on my keyboard, how do I get into replace mode using VIM while I'm in the Parallels window?

You can enter insert mode in VIM with 'i'.

I am aware of getting into INSERT mode. I need to get into replace mode.

In non-editing mode press R.
