Reset File Associations after 2X disconnect?

Not sure if this is possible; I am having an issue with the 2x client taking over my MS word file associations on laptops that actually have MSWord installed locally.

These users use ThinClients during the day; at home they launch the 2x client on their laptops to access shared files; I want them to be able to access shared docs but launch them in their local versions of Word instead of the TS version

Even when 2x is completly closed it still will launch any .doc in 2x.

Any workaround to fix this issue?
 
You can do this.
In the 2X CLient, go to advanced settings and uncheck the file extension option. Refresh it if you are logged in, log in if you are logged off.
Now you can see that the local document is not redirected to use from the server.
