restore Parallels after FRESH OS install?

i have had to do a fresh install of my OS on my MBP (Mountain Lion) and Mac Pro (Lion) with /no/ migration so as to not corrupt the new install with suspect settings.

i would very much like not to have to totally recreate my virtual machines on both of these computers as this is going to be very hard and time consuming to do.

i have both cloned backups to external USB HD's on both machines and i have Time Machine backups for both machines.

would someone mind helping me with a specific step by step method for re-creating my Parallels Virtual Machines on both these computers? i am really keeping my fingers crossed that this is easy and possible.

All you need is the .pvm file(s) in the Parallels folder in the Documents folder (by default). Reinstall PD, create a new VM, choosing to use an existing VM, and then point to the .pvm file. That's it.

hi. THANK YOU.

so i have /copied/ the pvm file from my CLONE of my original HD install on my internal drive on my mac pro and /pasted/ it into the parallels folder that is on my NEW install on my BOOT DRIVE.

do you know what i should be doing at this prompt after selecting existing option?

image should be below which asks for a "Moved" or "Copied" selection...
