Restricting disk access to the server

Hey all, am new to this app, so please be patient LOL

i have been able to serve the application BUT how to restrict dish access to the local computer the client is on ONLY. So that when the open and save commands are accessed only local disks are viewable
 
start>run>mmc
file>add/remove snap in
Add Group Policy Object Editor (to do on the local server)
OR
Group Policy Management (to do a GPO to apply to a group of servers in your domain) *you have to download this from MS

You'll probably use the group policy object editor
choose local computer

Now expand it and go to user configuration>Administrative templates>Windows Components>Windows Explorer

Enable the 'Hide these specified drives in My Computer' setting and choose the option you want.

***Doing this on the server will essentially hide the drive from administrators as well, so you'll need to disable this setting when you need to do something on the server.

It's best to apply this setting in active directory if you are in a domain environment and apply it to a group of users so that admins still have access to the drives.
