running PD7 do I need to install PD7 upgrade before PD9?

I have been running PD7 on my MAC w/OS10.8.5 It has been a very good addition to my system. I wanted to upgrade to the latest PD9 but purchased the PD7 upgrade thinking it was needed to link between pd7 and pd9..
Well, PD7 never downloaded. Do I just go direct to PD9? ANd then is there a chance for a refund for the PD7 upgrade which I willnot need to use?

You would not need to install Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac if you want to upgrade to Parallels Desktop 9.

You will receive a activation key after the purchase. Install Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac following the steps outlined on the article below:

You would need the activation key for Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac to complete the activation.

Also, the refund policy for Parallels Desktop for Mac is 30 days from the date of purchase.
