Saving files - get extra file

Hi all.

Perhaps this is a stupid question. But when I save a file from my Mac onto my windows desktop for example, it saves two files. One has the right file name, the other looks like some kind of hidden mac file that is now seen on windows.

Is this normal?

How can I stop it?

Hello Jay,

These ._files are hidden files that are always created by Mac OS X but not seen from Mac. However you can see them on Windows side. You can delete them without any harm to original files.
