Screen resolution problems

Hi, have tried to search the posts but keep getting search error message??

My problem is that the screen resolution on my XP VM keeps reverting to the minimum level on start up. I can go into Properties and readjust this, but cannot figure out why this is occurring.

I have been running Parallels for over one month with Vista, Linux and XP, no problems at all, it's a great product, amazing really.

When I start the other platforms, ie Vista and Linux, the resolution level is fine, BTW I have a 20
inch iMac

Any suggestions as to why this is taking place, and how do I fix it. Thanks

My 'search posts' problem is over, that's good.

But frustratingly the problem with screen resolution on start up persists. It is easily corrected by going into desktop Properties and setting the screen resolution to the max possible, but previousy I did not have to do this. I do recall now that I had to shut down XP crude way about a couple of days back, and a Microsoft Error report came up, something about some function which had ceased to exist or was damaged. I might try System Restore, which in a previous life with Windows XP, I had to resort to quite a lot

An update on my screen resolution problems in Windows XP for general information.

I did do a System Restore to about 3 days back, and the restore point previously created, did the trick. On a restart, the operating system now opens XP with the correct preset screen resolution.

Windows System Restore is a great feature. It is interesting to note that Apple will introduce a similar function in Leopard, about 5 years after this facility was introduced in Windows. One might argue is likely to be needed far more often in Windows, than we will require it in OS X, nevertheless, it is likely to be handy on occassions.
