I'd like to leave my laptop and work and have a 2nd computer at home. I want to put my Windows VM on an external drive and simply carry the drive back and forth to work. I don't expect the hardware to be identical on the two machines. In fact, it'd be really cool I could use a Mac in one location and a generic PC at the other.
So, two questions hear really:
1) Can a VM be moved back and forth between two different computers?
2) Can these computers be different types (Mac, Linux, Windows)?
