Sharing files/folders with windows computer?

I have spoken to both applecare and windows support and they have both concluded that because data can be pinged to the windows computer (Dell) from the mac which is running the parellels virtual machine with windows XP (Imac), but that the Dell cannot successfully ping the Imac, that I sould contact the maker of parallels to fix the problem.

I need to set up a simple home network for file sharing using the Windows Wizard. What do I need to adjust/change in the parallels setup to make it work?

Hello, Andrew!

Please check Parallels version (and build # too) and check the virtual network adapter settings. Please change the network connection type to "Bridget ethernet" via Devices menu or via the config. editor (Edit-Edit the virtual machine).
