assigning @ in mapping table

Thanks for your short explanation, I am as lost as AngeloA with the keyboard mapping (German keyboard, Parallels and Windows):
For getting @ in MS Outlook, I have to type Alt-Q (as on a Windows keyboard)
I want to type Alt-L (as on the MAC)
I use the mapping dialog (keyboard preferences) with the entry
From Alt-Q To Alt-L
But nothing happens, Alt-Q works perfectly, with Alt-L no reaction
Where is my mistake?
