Hi.
I'm using Firefox in Windows 7. It's a silly situation, but....I can't find, in the mac keyboard, the @ sign....
 
The @ on the Mac keyboard is option (ALT) + L. On a Windows keyboard it's ALT GR + Q, where ALT GR is the right ALT key (the one on the right of the SPACE key).

With Parallels Desktop 6 the mapping within a Windows guest was "right ALT" + Q, with Parallels Desktop 7, this has changed to "right ALT" + L (at least on my machines).

Not quite sure - does this answer your question?
 
in case you have problems using @ sign in Parallels - go to Parallels Desktop menu -> Preferences -> keyboard and assign the mapping you want for that sign
 
Hi.

Thanks for your help, but I've some problems in mapping. I try to explain:
In the mac os to obtain the 'at' sign, I've to digit:
'alt/option' + '@'
in the windows 7:
'fn' + 'alt/option' + '@'

Then, I've tried in the mapping controls of Parallels to set this, but it dosn't work. Does anyone help me giving the exact process to obtain this?

Thanks for your short explanation, I am as lost as AngeloA with the keyboard mapping (German keyboard, Parallels and Windows):

For getting @ in MS Outlook, I have to type Alt-Q (as on a Windows keyboard)
I want to type Alt-L (as on the MAC)
I use the mapping dialog (keyboard preferences) with the entry
From Alt-Q To Alt-L
But nothing happens, Alt-Q works perfectly, with Alt-L no reaction

Where is my mistake?

thank you for your quick reply but..

no, it doesn't work. I tried in the Windows profile both directions:
Alt-Q to Alt-L: Alt-Q creates @, no reaction with Alt-L
Alt-L to Alt-Q: Alt-Q and Alt-L no reaction

same changes under Mac OSX profile, all combinations: Alt-Q creates @, no reaction with Alt-L

Any idea?
 
Solutions:

1 - install Bootcamp drivers into your VM (it contains Mac keyboard layout driver)
2 - Find the web for the desired layout driver for your keyboard
3 - use Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator (MSKLC) to create you're own Keyboard

The most simple and 100% working is the first (Bootcamp drivers).

@ all:

I've updated my PD6 to PD7 and I find out the same thing. But I want to keep the keyboard mapping that is used in PD6 because of several shortcuts in determined windows applications. (Why has this changed???)

Sorry, I forgot to say that I don't use my internal keyboard on my MBP when I'm working on my VM. I use an external keyboard with standard 101/102 key windows layout. In PD6 the special characters like '@' were in the same place as in a real Win XP machine. When I'm in my VM (WinXP), on my external keyboard for an '@' I have to press 'altgr' + 'q' , for '~' I have to press 'altgr' + '+'. I had nothing additionally installed like Boot Camp Drivers etc. It was a standard WinXP installation.
But now, after upgrading to PD7 my VM or the ext. keyboard doesn't "know" the place of the special characters anymore. It has the same layout now as my keyboard on my MBP. E.g. when I press 'altgr' + 'q' on my ext. keyboard, I get the character '«'. I changed the layout in PD7 preferences but no way. I don't think that Boot Camp Drivers will help here. I think it's a problem (or is it wanted) of PD7?
For now I use PD6 again but I payed for PD7 already....
Is there a solution?
