    Maybe this will help someone.......

I have asked a few questions about these cloud based services and have eventually manged to stop duplicating the folders and ensuring I have access in both Mac X and Win 7 operating systems. I use a combination of Skydrive, Dropbox and Google drive and have only sorted out a new problem that I thought I would share just in case its useful.

I try to use the Mac Os X as much as possible but fact is I live on a Corporate network and so need that MS functionality, linking to printers, servers, Sharepoint etc so I spend a lot of time in the Win 7 VM using the latest office, Visio etc.

So the principle I use is keep as much as I can embedded in the OS X and give the Win VM access to it. I recently updated to a MBP (great machine, nightmare with the external monitor in Parallels). The Dropbox, Google Drive and icloud comes across easily once you check the right sharing box in the 'Configure, options, sharing'

But from my simplistic position it seems as if Parallels expects you allow access to the Skydrive by installing it in windows and then allowing OS X access. This is not what I want as it means when the VM is not running I don't see it in OS X.

So I installed the Mac Skdrive app as normal and ensured it was all running in OS X. Then I went into Parallels, Configure, Options, Sharing, share folders, custom folders. It then asks you to specify Mac OSX folders, click the plus button and navigate to the Skydrive on the Mac side and click OK.

This allows the VM to access the Skydrive on the Mac side and it appears in the VM Computer and psf icons

    Might help someone else

    Cheers
