Will reverting to previous snapshots remove virus in the system?

Hi!
I think my virtual machine (windows 10) is infected by virus. Fortunately, I have made a snapshot when I first installed the virtual machine.
Does it mean that my system would be safe when I go back to that snapshot and all the virus would be gone? What information does the snapshot really contain?

Yes, if you have taken a snapshot before virus infection in Windows reverting to that snapshot will remove virus but also take your virtual machine to the state it was when the snapshot was taken. Refer to this article for more info.
