Some Windows desktop items show up on mac desktop

How do I prevent OS X from displaying some items on my Windows desktop? It's not everything, it just seems like it displays newly created items. On the OS X side of this setting it's just a check box but on the Windows side of things the only option is to turn everything off. I don't want everything off, i just don't need random executables or text files OS X has no use for cluttering up my desktop.

Hi Ryan, Please shut down your virtual machine and go to Configuration->Options-> Share Mac and uncheck " Share Mac user folders with Windows" also got to Share Folders and choose "None" If you want to isolate Windows from Mac. Please check out this article

I already explained I was aware of this option and it's not what I want. Not wanting to share desktops is in no way a need of "isolation" as you put it. I just don't want you to throw random Windows icons on my Mac desktop. Completely random. Sometimes you'll drop one right on top of another. There is a checkbox to isolate only the Mac desktop from the Windows desktop but the only option on the Windows side is to disable EVERYTHING. I can't even copy/paste files. It's hardly a solution.

Hi Ryan, you can disable shared profile feature in VM config > options > sharing tab. This will prevent os x and windows profiles from sharing. btw, you can disable only desktop sharing there clicking on 'configure'
