I have a Toshiba Thrive with android 3.2.1 connecting to a windows 2008r2 server over wifi. I am comparing 2x client with Wyse Pocketcloud and Extralogic Remote Desktop. I prefer everything about 2x Client except the screen load speed. Both of the other clients load screens almost instantly, however when I change a screen over the 2x Client connection it takes several seconds for the image to render as it is drawn starting at the top and building down towards the bottom. I have color depth set at 16 bit, resolution at 1280x800, and only bitmap caching and compression checked under experience. Is there anything I can do to improve the speeds?
Checking the client, it doesn't seem that there are further options to speed things up (other than maybe changing to 256 colours, but I don't know if you would actually like to do that). Is lowering the resolution a problem? Does this only happen on the welcome screen, or does it happen even when connecting? Are the other clients and other apps still working in the background using your connection?
I tried 256 color and it actually slowed things down. I need full screen so lower resolution is not an option. This happens after I am connected any time the screen needs to refresh. Nothing else running in the background. As an example I have a program on the server that takes 30 seconds to launch and render the screen using 2x client and only 16 seconds with pocketcloud. Same tablet, same server, same settings, different RDP client.
