Hi All,
I am not great with computers so I might be missing something obvious but nevertheless need some advice, I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Parallels on my MacBookPro and on start up I get a message about inserting a startup disc, I don't have a clue what this is and as far as I know I don't have any disc's for my MBPro, any advice gratefully received.
 
Parallels Desktop emulates a PC. You need a hard disk to boot the PC or an installer disk to install an OS to a hard disk to boot the PC.

If you want to use Windows, then you need to buy a Windows installer disk (I think you can buy and then download). If you want to use Linux, then you need to download a Linux installer disk image (usually in .iso format).

Thank you for replying, I am not much good with computers so I may explain what I am hoping to do. I have a programme that only works on Windows, my friend pointed me towards Parallel thinking that it would solve my problem but it seems that I will need to do much more than just Purchasing "Parallel". I am confused by "Linux".
Technical jargon is to much for me to understand.
