As the title say, I'm still unable to upgrade to Windows 10. I'm using Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac on an early 2013 rMBP. I'm using Windows 8.1, with all updates installed The 'Get Windows 10' widget gives the 'Parallels Display Adapter' complaint. I've used the Actions->Upgrade to Windows 10 menu item and tried to upgrade by running the media creator software from within Windows I've created a USB stick with the ISO image and tried to upgrade from that. I've followed the steps here: http://blog.parallels.com/2015/11/03/windows-10-in-parallels-desktop-11/ I've done these: http://kb.parallels.com/en/123053 No luck with this: http://kb.parallels.com/en/122884 In every case I've tried, the upgrade runs along, and then at the end it says "restoring your previous version of Windows" and I'm back at 8.1.
Hello, Could you try the following steps in order to fix our existing Windows 8.1, 1. Run system file checker scan as mentioned in this article (first 2 steps). 2. Check if you have installed all updates of Windows 8.1 Let us know how it goes.
Hi Sasti, I ran the system file checker, which found problems, and took the steps outlined to fix them. I verified that I have all updates of Windows 8.1. Next I tried to upgrade, and again it failed. This time, I did get an error message. I've included a screen shot of the message.
Hi hansderycke, you have received this warning due to the fact that the Parallels Display Adapter driver is not included in the list of drivers compatible with Windows 10 Update. We would suggest you to upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on native boot camp (If you have configured Bootcamp based Windows 8.1 VM) and then create a new (BootCamp based) virtual machine on Parallels Desktop.
Hi, Are you using 32 bit or 64 bit? for installing a 64-bit version of Windows 10 please make sure your virtual machine has at least 2GB of RAM assigned. To check virtual machine's RAM please open configuration menu -> Hardware tab -> CPU & Memory. To increase the memory you would need to shut down your virtual machine.
Hello hansderycke, Looks like the issue needs a deeper investigation kindly generate a problem report id and provide us the 9 digit number and we will check it out for you.
Hi, you may try this blog post to know more about how to install and upgrade to Windows 10 in Parallels Desktop.
Hi Paul, I've tried that several times already. In fact, that was the very first link in my opening post.
To upgrade Windows 10 32 bit minimum 16 GB free space is required. Please check whether you have free space in Windows virtual machine if not please increase virtual hard disk space steps followed.

Do you guys even read the thread before you reply? I mentioned installing all updates and trying that very article in the first message I posted.
Hello Hansderycke, Please try steps and check how it goes 1. Make sure the Windows 8.1 Virtual Machine is activated and download Windows 10 Installation Image (.iso) from this link (Choose your Windows version - 32-bit or 64-bit) 2. Take a snapshot. Click on Actions> Take Snapshot. 3. Connect the downloaded Windows 10 Installation Image (.iso) to the Windows 8.1 Virtual Machine Virtual Machine Configuration > Hardware > CD/DVD1 >Choose an image file 4. Run the Setup.exe file and make sure to choose "Keep Existing Data and Files" during the installation Wizard
