Streets and Trips 2011 will not install

I am a newbie here and need some help - has anyone had problems installing MS Streets and Trips 2010 or 2011? I have an iMac 3.6 GHz Intel Core i5 running on OS 10.6.6, Parallels 6 and Windows 7 Professional with all the latest updates as of 3/21/11 including SP1. I am not able to install 2011 Streets and Trips. When I insert the disc the contents are read but the autostart does not run. If I attempt to run the Autostart program it opens in notebook and lissts the code. The first command is to run DVDrun. When I try to run DVDrun I receive the message "unable to load vital strings. This application will now close". I have a 2010 version installed on a PC and receive the same message when I try to install that version. I was able to load a 2006 version without any problems.

Any suggestions?

Fixed it! I decided to download and install the trial version available from MS on the web, which worked. I then ran the program and part way through the program initialization it asks if you have a product key available. I entered the product key and was able to register the product.

Looks like it is working fine, have no idea what caused the original problem, but the trial edition does download at least 4 pieces of related MS software including Access data base etc that may have been one of the missing "vital strings" mentioned in the original error message. In the post above, I forgot to mention that I also tried to run the setup_ST file and got the same error message.

It would be good to know what the original problem was, but this backdoor way worked anyway. Hope this helps others.
