Struggling to get 2X running

I am trying to serve applications from our server to remote users. I followed the Single Terminal Server environment install instructions.

I can see the published application on the remote computer but it will not run. I get this error:

A specific terminal server was not found. Please inform your system administrator.

Status from the 2x Console shows:

Sun Apr 08 15:42:45 2007

2X Client Gateway running normally
2X Client Gateway running on 0.0.0.0:8080
RDP direct gateway running on 0.0.0.0:3389
Broadcast service running on 0.0.0.0:20000

0 active RDP tunneled session(s)
0 active Citrix tunneled session(s)


2X Terminal Server Agent not running, please check log file for more information

2X Publishing Agent running normally
Load Balancing 1 server(s)

Active Disconnected
Server Type Agent CPU Memory Sessions Sessions
SERVER RDP Not Verified




When I check the log it contains this entry multiple times (with a different time obviously)

Sun Apr 08 15:31:14 2007 - Sending a Connection Request to Agent SERVER.

I have the following port settings

2x client gateway port is 8080
RDP Port is 3389
Publishing agent port is 20002
2x Terminal server agent port is 3390

The server is set for Remote Desktop Connections on port 3391

netstat -na shows the server is listening on these ports.

If I check which services are started I get the following
2X client gateway started
2x Publishing Agent started
2x Terminal Server No statis, scheduled to start automaitically

If I start it manually i get the message The Service Started and Then Stopped

The Terminal Server State shows agent not found. If I check it it returns agent not found please install agent.

If i reinstall the agent I get the same error.

I have now run out of ideas. Any suggestions on what may be the problem?

Hi there, it seams that your Terminal server agent service is not loading.

Check the system event log, as when something fails a log is placed over there.

When I check Services the Terminal Services Agent is shown as loaded but the status column is blank.

There are no errors in the Event Log

If I manually try to start the Terminal Services Agent from within Services I get the message:

The 2X Terminal Server Agent on Local Computer started and then stoppped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Loags and Alert service.

When I do this the Event Log shows

I suggest you send a support request from the console as this helps is diagnosing your problem much better.
