Struggling to get Windows XP installed!

Hi there, looking for help.

I have been trying to get Windows XP Pro installed on Parallels and have failed. I have spent the day trying to create Windows XP .iso bootable USB as I use a Mac Air. I finally managed to do this and still can't get windows to load. This is as far as I have managed to get - I'm thinking I am not creating the .iso file correctly or its looking for something else.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Hi Manoj, thanks for the prompt. I finally got windows installed!

Couple of things that I struggled with - just in case others read this.

From the link and the instructions on http://kb.parallels.com/4751 I wasn't able to access the configuration elements in instructions 1 - 7. I was using a USB stick and didn't have a CD drive. The configuration menu was greyed out in all cases and ways I tried.

What did seem to work was copying the two files in instruction 8 and I did this when I created the Windows XP iso file. Using ImgBurn I created the bootable USB with the following setup.

Folder WINXP containing the following folder and files

I386 folder
WIN51
WIN51IP (these were for windows XP Professional)
NTLDR (found in the I386 folder but placed in this location instead)
NTDETECT.COM (found in the I386 folder but placed in this location instead)

Once the Windows XP bootable USB was created in this way the installation worked.

A useful link for doing all of this was http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Bootable-Windows-XP-ISO-from-a-Folder with the only change that ImgBurn used ISO9660 instead of the wikihow instruction of ISO9660 + Joliet.
