I'm running Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac (build 4560) for weeks without any problems, with Vista Ultimate on a MacPro with 4 Gigs or RAM and OS X 10.4.10.
Suddenly, when I try to boot up Vista in Parallels I get a message from Windows Boot Manager:
**********************
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Chose your language settings, then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance
File: \Windows\System32\Drivers\PGPwded.sys
Status: 0xc0000098
Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.
****************************
I put the Vista CD in and link it to the CD but I can't get it to boot from the Vista CD.
I have PGP installed on the mac and Vista but don't have whole disc encryption activated on either.
The only change that was made was the 10 Patch Tuesday updates that came out from Microsoft this week. The boot failure seemed to start after that.
Can anyone help please?
thanks!
