Sudden problems starting up

my VM is taking a really long time to start. sometimes spends a good deal of time reporting that it is Not Responding. when i finally got it up last night, there was no sound.

do i need to create a new VM? could my bootcamp partition be damaged?

even when it gets up and running, parallels desktop frequently goes into not responding status.

abdul, i am not experiencing a performance issue per se. the program stalls and Activity Monitor lists it as "Not Responding." it does this while starting up, but it eventually completes that startup. it then happens while is am running windows programs.

the various KB articles don't really address this issue.

posing the question another way, what can cause Parallels Desktop to become unresponsive?
