super mouse scroll speed

I just installed Parallels 8 on mac 10.8.2. Everything is working pretty good and im loving coherence mode. The one problem im having is if im using either internet explorer or firefox in coherence mode if i just touch the mouse wheel the page scrolls at 100 mph. The mouse scroll is jumping in huge steps and super hyper sensitive. I wanted to know if anyone has heard of this problem or has this problem its quite annoying. Im so used to using the mouse wheel to scroll its driving me nuts.

I am using mouse software called Steermouse. If no one is having the issue could Steermouse be causing this to happen?
 
I just uninstalled Steermouse and rebooted. Im still have super sensitive scroll issues. the mouse wheel is unusable since it scrolls past everything at the slightest touch.
 
I am experiencing the same problem. Changes in the "setting mouse" do not alter the speed "wheel speed".
Does anyone know how to adjust the speed of rotation of the wheel to make it acceptable for the job?
