Native resolution of MBP or External Screen would be enough for me

    Resolutions

Please support 1680x1050 for Linux guests.

I am trying to configure Ubuntu/debian on my new Macbook Pro 17 (native 1680x1050)... not much luck so far! been editing xorg.conf and trying other things. Not sure why it only gives me 1024x768 and less.

Some setup guides to do any guest OS setup would be helpful (even in the forum here). If anyone knows how to set this up, please reply, thanks!

Check your monitor settings in Ubuntu. There are no high resolutions if your monitor settings not able to show them (default monitor selected or so on).

Ubuntu in Parallels on Macbook Pro 17 1680x1050

I figured it out - Ubuntu's xorg.conf file needed some changes. I have posted a working xorg.conf file in the following thread, if anyone needs it.

Thanks to the forum members that have posted clues that led me to a solution!
