suse does not see network

i have setup the network but each time i do so and then try to see firefox it says no network connection then i check the settings and it says theres no network setup even though i just set it up.

10.2. when u click on computer in the bottom left that thing that says network i just clicked that and it finds the driver but for some reason either the config is not sticking or settings are screwed somewhere.

Press Alt-F2, and type YaST to execute the system management software, then you should be able to access the network configuration portion of SuSE and reconfigure it.
 
i just figured out the problem for some reason the network was not turned on after i turned it on it works fine. is that normal? that i have to turn on the network in linux for it to work shouldn't it do that automatically?
