I just installed Parallels v6. I noticed that after the installation my Windows (XP) taskbar disappeared when in coherence, and the Parallels Desktop menu bars in the Mac also disappeared. The only way I could get them back was to go into Window mode. Clicking on "show taskbar" in the Mac view menu (in window mode) made no difference.
I managed to restore the taskbar by option-clcking the parallels icon in the top right of the mac screen (the place where the airport, sound, clock etc icons are) and choosing "show taskbar" from the view options. BUT I still can't get the parallels desktop menu bars to appear at the top left of the screen when I am in coherence.
To be clear about it, when I am in coherence, even if I click on the task bar to bring Parallels to the front, I still don't get the parallels menu bars displayed in the top left of the Mac screen. If I was in eg Firefox, the Firefox menu bars remain, even though I am working in Parallels. Really irritating. I have created a new machine in Windows 7, and the same problem.
Any help appreciated. Is this a bug or can it be changed?
