The Boot Camp partition "/dev/xx" used by Hard Disk 1 is not supported

Hello

I have the trial of Parallels Desktop 5 (5.0.9344) for Mac.

I am running WinXP SP2 on a Bootcamp partition. Mac OS X is 10.5.8.

When I run Parallels Desktop in OS X, it works fine. If I reboot and load Windows natively, it works fine. However, when I reboot and load OS X, then try and launch Parallels, I get this error:

The Boot Camp partition "/dev/disk2s3" used by Hard Disk 1 is not supported.

I have to delete the Parallels Virtual Machine and create a new one to make it work again.

Is this a known fault, and if so, what is the fix? A browse of this forum does not reveal any immediate answers, but I am not going to pay $70 for a product that doesn't work when there are alternatives out there that do!

Hi Steve,
looks like partition marker changes steadily. Parallels Desktop supports Boot Camp partitions residing on disk0s3, created with Boot Camp Assistant. Support of changing Boot Camp mount point will be implemented in the future.
