The Remote Computer Has Ended The Connection

It would be useful if the installer/client for version 4.3 of the ApplicationServer client highlighted that you need version 6.0 of the Microsoft RDP Client (KB925876) for it to work. Otherwise, the error I was getting:

The Remote Computer Has Ended The Connection

(Hopefully I didn't just click through a warning on the installer that would have saved a few hours troubleshooting.)

Client 4.3 DOES NOT require Microsoft RDP Client version 6.0.

It works fine with older versions of Microsoft RDP Clients.

Version 6.0 is only required if you need resolutions above 1600 X 1200.

OK, fair enough - but 6.0 fixed the problem I was having. Any other suggestions gratefully received. The normal RDP client was able to connect to the server fine, but the 2X client died with the above error.

FYI; This worked for me too on a neoware m100 with XP embedded. I was getting the same message "The Remote Computer Has Ended The Connection". Only through 2X. All is well now.

Looking at this a little closer, I could connect to the appserver using direct mode but could not connect through gateway mode or SSL mode. Once I install the 6.0 RDP update. All modes worked as expected withouth the connection error message. I could RDP directly to the server using the older client. Not sure if any of this may lead you to a potential bug fix, but as a workaround, installing the new 6.0 RDP client clears it up.

Did you apply any service packs to the server?

No service packs on the server. Windows Server 2003 R2. Normal hotfixes but no service packs. This was only on client too. Other systems that were running the 4.3 199 client worked as expected with the older RDP client. The only difference was this was an XP embedded thinclient (neoware m100)
