This may be an old question but will Windows 10 work with Parallels 9?

I couldn't reserve Windows 10 because of parallels display adapter won't work. (I currently use Parallel 9)
Will Parallels 9 ever work with Windows 10?
If not, will the display adapters in Parallels 10 work? I'll have to upgrade.

To upgrade do i just install Parallels 10 and then re-select my bootcamp partition?

Hi Scott,
Windows 10 is not supported with Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac.
Yes, you can upgrade to Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac as Windows 10 is supported here.
 
I was on the win 10 trial and I check for updates today and it downloaded the release version and installed. I am running parallels 9 so it tools me a few tries to figure out why I was having problem with the parallels tools but I eventually stumbled across a way to make them install correctly. It seems to be running great!

I am not sure of the exact fix but at first it seemed like a permission problem, the tools acted like they installed but didn't. I then uninstalled them from the programs installed menu, turned on developers mode (under update & security) rebooted and on the parallels task bar the gear like icon was lit red and clicking on it I opened it to the folder option, right clicked (for admin powers) on the autorun (I think) and it started installing the tools. After that I rebooted and everything worked as one would think. Only thing that acts odd is coherence mode - it kind of works depending on the app. Everything else I've tried, that I normally use windows for, seems the same as win 8.1.
 
I have a Windows 7 Ultimate VM in Parallels 9 (P9). When I initially tried getting the upgrade to run using Microsoft's "Mediacreation" app it would always die part way through. This was in a standard user account.

To get it to work, I did 3 things; I removed Parallel Tools, I restarted I booted into an admin account & I also set set the CD/DVD drive and hard drive to IDE (instead of SATA) in hardware configuration (VM has to be shut down for that change).

I did all three of the above at once so I don't know if they are all required or just a particular step. In any event, it now seems to work fine. I was able to perform the upgrade on my Windows 7 Ultimate VM and it is now Windows 10 Pro.

Next step will be to back up the VM and try installing Tools. It is too early to tell if the Windows 10 VM will be problem free in P9 but I will report back after I spend some time using it.

Installed Parallel Tools today (using Parallels 9) and have been hitting various sites with the new Edge web browser (pandora currently playing in the background). Everything seems good so far.

Again, it is a little early to say that there are no problems with running Windows 10 as a guest in Parallels 9 but so far it seems to work rather well. I am running the latest Yosemite release on a MacBook Pro (2.6 i7, 15-inch, Mid 2012), 16GB of RAM.
