Free aplication to operate hidden files and folders on Mac
This program (Funter) is free, but requires Admin permission to install on Sierra in the Security settings since downloaded from the web.
Use Funter to show hidden files, switch hidden files visibility in Finder,
hide files, copy, move or remove them.
    Features
Show hidden files in two clicks
Search hidden files in system folders and packages
Hide/unhide your files to be visible in Finder

I'd like to bump this too. Much needed tool for our toolbox.

One click to turn on hidden files in the finder (ones starting with a dot . or otherwise) so that users don't need to resort to third party tools or the terminal command line.

Suggestions for icon would be a 'spy icon' as per at the hundreds that show up on Google Image search for the same.

Alternatively, just use the shortcut key provided by macOS: "shift+command+.". To hide your file, just set the "hidden" flag using `chflags`.
