Too Large a .pvm file?

Hi Team,

I created my first .pvm a few weeks ago suspecting that my PC might be on the way out. Sure enough, it died this weekend. Fortunately, I have a workable .pvm. The bad news is that I created it with all of my media files. So the .pvm is huge (1TB). I should have created the base .pvm without all of that data. But, it was a newbie mistake. It isn't much room to Compress. But, at least I have a .pvm to work with

With that in mind, I was hoping to get some guidance from the experts in this forum:

1) Is this too large a .pvm to operate/manage?
2) Would I see a meaningful improvement in file size if I deleted the media files?

I'll take any suggestions from this experienced audience. Thanks much for your thoughts.

Hi @JamesE2, yes, I think, that it's too large size of .pvm (It will be great to have a backup).
You can remove some files if you don't need it, and also check your VM for snapshot and remove some (if you don;t need it)

Thanks Maria. I will work on reducing the number of media files in the image, which should help. What size should I target to get under (in GB)?

Also, how can I use Parallels to access these media files outside of the image if I have them on an external drive?
