Too many activations - last installation lost due to Apple error...

Apple wiped my HD and I am now unable to rebuild parallels because it says I have too many activations on my product key. I don't have any current activations - it was erased on this very computer. How do I approach this - past threads only resolve it and don't tell how. Please help ASAP.
