trouble starting parallels

Hi,

I am running Parallels with Windows XP SP2, and for some reason when i try to start Parallels, it makes me select a virtual machine-i choose WinXP (the only one shown), but then it says WinXP is being used in another Parallels Window, even though I don't have the program open.

Could someone lend some advice? It would be great, thanks!

EDIT: i downloaded the new RC, but now i get this message box popping up frequently; when i start the VM, when i try to change settings. It goes away after like 10 click of the ok box:

msmsgs.exe - Bad Image
"The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\CLBCATQ.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

Does anyone have any idea what's causing this?

Your first problem is caused by a lock file that didn't get deleted on shutdown as it should. Search the forum for ".lock" for detailed instruction for a couple of ways to deal with it.

No idea about your second one though.
