UAC Prompt - Vista

I have the latest 2X App Pub client on my Vista workstation... but defender keeps blocking it as a startup program and every time I try to run it from the desktop I get prompted User Account Control to verify that I am trying to start the program.

Is there any way around this (preferably other than disabling UAC)?

No way other then disabling security. Vista prompts you even if you try launching it's own apps.

I've had the above response from 2X support and got nowhere as well.

With some respect (this was an old post), this is not an acceptable answer! How does just about every other program manage to start automatically in Vista? The 2X client is the only software on my machine which gets blocked from starting.

I believe it is just a matter of getting the 2X client software code-signed by a reputable vendor. Once this is done, it should be able to start automatically. http://www.verisign.com/products-services/security-services/code-signing/index.html

Can 2X please prioritise a fix for this? Any confusion or frustration for low-it-skilled end users should be avoided.

All the installs for ApplicationServer and client are codesigned, if you change the msi file then you will of course get warnings.
