It's been awhile since I've used Linux and I'm stuck.
Recently built a new VM on my MacBook Pro using the Ubuntu 12.04 iso using the Parallels 7 wizard. After updating and doing a restart, I briefly get a Ubuntu color screen and then to a black screen as shown in the screen shot. Basically terminal with a flashing cursor after unbuntu login:
Any attempt to use the keyboard to type fails. No cursor movement, no cursor movement, no response to keyboard. [ctrl] + q or [ctrl] + c does nothing, neither does pressing Return or Enter.
I can go no farther...
