Ubuntu 16.04 Mounting External Hard Drive

I have been using Parallels and 14.04 for a long while now and have always been able to mount usb drives. However, I recently installed 16.04 and I am unable to mount/read external USB drives. The drive shows up with lsusb and parallels shows it is connected to my VM.

Has anyone had this problem/found a solution?
 
What version of Parallels Desktop do you use? What does dmesg prints after an attempt to mount this drive in guest?
