Ubuntu Server 22.04 how to mount mac to be seen as physical HD on Linux?

I installed parallels tools on my Ubuntu Server 22.04 and I can see and access my mac filesystem from the linux server - however, it is mounted in the media directory which doesn't allow me to create hard links - which in turn does not allow me to build projects with Yocto or my other software build machines. I need the mac fs to be seen as a physical drive on linux. I managed to do this somehow on my 18.04 machine but it went bananas after the last update and became unrecoverable.
