Unable to Add Google Account to Debian 12

I am unable to add my google online account in the online accounts settings window of Debian 12 ARM64. I am able to enter my google e-mail address and password, and complete the two device integrity check (where i clicked allow in my phone's GMail program), but the final step in the process fails silently and returns me to the online accounts dialog with google not added. Is there a known solution to this problem?
