Unable to connect Sandisk Extreme 900 external SSD

Hi there, I'm unable to mount an external USB 3.1 SSD into any VM. Running under Parallels 11.2.1.
The SSD works perfectly fine with my MacBookPro11,2. When I connect it to a virtual machine, Parallels correctly disconnects it from the system and shows an alert window that the drive gets connected to the current VM. But inside the VM it never shows.
It's just gone until I turn off the VM or disconnect it from the VM.
Any clues?
