Unable to enter characters like \ [ {

Bit poster
I must be daft but I just cannot find how to enter characters like \,[,{ etc...
They are very useful in regex writing and the solution that implies copy/paste is just not on.. (and the tool RegexBuddy is only available in Windows)
Is there a way to use the numeric apple keyboard where these are obtained through Alt-Shift : , Shift-Alt ( and Alt ( ?
When I key these when in Parallels I just get a "bump" sound...

Hi, did you try steps from this KB article?
 
Yes I did and tried with no success (see attached screen hardcopy)Capture d’écran 2019-07-22 à 08.08.32.png , where do I get wrong ?
MacBook Pro 13" 2018 Touchbar OSX Mojave - used as "desktop" (closed) external Screen and Apple French Numerical Keyboard
